Love - Love is a strategy to better meet other peoples needs. So when people say they love you, deep down they mean they're trying to better meet your needs. In addition love can mean giving people the strategies to better meet their needs for themselves. So we can all learn to love, which would mean, learning how to better meet other peoples needs.
